6月26日付のEU議会のコミュニケによると，今年10月18日からシェンゲン協定圏内でのビザ無し滞在日数の算定方法が変更されるそうです．

当該圏内をたまに，例えば1年に一度程度訪れる旅行客等には実質的に影響はありませんが，短期間に複数の滞在を繰り返す場合には影響がでてきそうです．
以下，新たに発効する滞在日数の算定方法をEU議会のコミュニケから引用します．

"1. For intended stays on the territory of the Member States of a duration of no more than 90 days in any 180-day period, which entails considering the 180-day period preceding each day of stay, the entry conditions for third- country nationals shall be the following:";

つまり，これまでは単純に半年間において3ヶ月を超えない滞在の場合，ビザは不要とされていたのですが(EU Regulation No. 562/2006)，2013年10月18日以降は，シェンゲン圏内滞在期間中の各日付の前日から数えて過去180日間に合計で90日を超える滞在をしていてはいけないことになります．
具体的には，例えば12月20日から1週間圏内に滞在するとします．その場合，もし入国検査を受ける日の20日の前日の19日から数えて180日間にシェンゲン圏内において合計90日の滞在をしていた場合は，入国はできないということになります．＊1)
なお，パスポートの残存有効期間については，シェンゲン圏内を離れる日において，少なくとも3ヶ月間必要です．また，パスポートは過去10年以内に発給されている必要があります．（日本の場合，問題はありませんが．）
