01.101と言うと，気になるのが流線形の01 1102ですが，2013年11月8日にハイルブロン鉄道博物館からチェコのチェスケー・ヴェレニツェ車両工場に移送されて以来，動態復活の計画はあるようですが，現時点では新しいニュースはありません．文末のコブレンツ地方蒸気機関車と鉄道友の会の2018年10月25日付のお知らせによると，同車両工場は債務超過状態にあり，動態復元工事は適切な工場にてのみ可能であるため，同機を2018年11月にそうした工場(間違いなくドイツ鉄道のマイニンゲン工場)へ移送する計画があったようですが，その後の状況は不明です．

3気筒重油燃焼式のマシンで，01ファミリーの最強モデル．東西ドイツ時代，西独国鉄(ドイツ連邦鉄道=DB)にのみ存在した形式です．同じモデルで動態保存されているのは，オランダ蒸気機関車財団の01 1075とウルム鉄道友の会の01 1066の2両のみです．012三兄弟，早く復活して欲しいものです．(個人的には，ボイラーが細身でエレガントなシルエットの03のほうが好きですが...)　なお，01ファミリーの中で012に次ぐハイパワーマシンは，東独国鉄による改造機01.5形(2'C1' 2h)です．
